Christmas ramblings

On the way to preschool last week this is what I hear on the radio:

announcer: "Come on down to the Station Casino and participate in Toys for Slots"
me thinking: Isn't usually Toys for Tots? How is this going to play out?
announcer: "That's right guys, you bring a new toy for a child and we will give you a 10 dollar card to play the slots with."
me thinking: Usually giving around this time of year leaves you with a warm feeling in your heart. In Las Vegas they leave you with money to gamble away. Great inncentive.

Anyway, I love having children around this time of year. They are SO excited for Christmas. Jensen is a little confused and thinks that everyday is Christmas. (he wants to open up all of his presents, because Santa is coming....) We tried explaining to him that for halloween we put up a lot of decorations, but only ONE night was actually halloween. The same is for Christmas. We are counting down days until the 25th because that is when Jesus was born and when Santa comes. Andrew just yells out CHRISTMAS everytime we see lights in the store or on the street. Nice......

It is fun to have kids! They liven the holidays! All Max knows is that Santa is coming. In his prayers a few weeks ago he said, "Please bless Santa go to Grandma 'Darte's house." We will be in Vegas for Christmas, so he wanted to make sure that Santa would come there. I echo your words, "Nice." :)

That is too funny about the $10 card to use the slots. And, I had almost forgotten about the "where are you Christmas" song. That is a great song. I remember listening to that over and over when we were roommates (along with the Celine Dion Christmas CD).
